VF Corp To Boycott Brazilian Leather

VF Corp., the parent of The North Face, Timberland, Vans and Kipling, will no longer buy Brazilian leather as continuing forest fires ravage the Amazon rainforest. In a statement, VF said it would resume buying Brazil leather when “we have the confidence and assurance that the materials used in our products do not contribute to environmental harm in the country.”

Genesco Raises Full-Year Outlook On Journeys’ Momentum

Genesco Inc. lifted its full-year outlook after reporting a surprise profit in the second quarter.  Same-store sales also came out ahead of expectations, led by a 4 percent gain by Journeys Group. Bob Dennis, CEO, said, “We delivered second quarter consolidated results that exceeded expectations across the board.”
