Pearl Izumi debuts its Spring 2021 collection, featuring a range of new and revamped styles and key technologies designed for riders across all categories.

The collection furthers the brand’s sustainability commitment to incorporate recycled, renewable and organic materials in its line and to feature sustainable content across 90 percent of its product by 2022; and implement eco-friendly technologies, including bluesign approved GoFresh, an anti-odor treatment that enables riders to reduce laundering.

“As we continue to lean into our sustainability initiatives and broader Social Purpose goals as a brand, we’re using more sustainable materials across our lineup than ever before,” said Andrew Hammond, director, brand marketing, Pearl Izumi. “We’re proud to provide riders with gear that not only makes them feel good but that they can also feel good about wearing. From road to trail to commute and everywhere in between, our new Spring 2021 collection truly offers something for everyone.”

For the road, the brand’s form-fit, wind-resistant Pro Mesh Jersey is redesigned for 2021 for both men and women. The performance jersey is enhanced with sweat-activated In-R-Cool technology to improve the user’s thermoregulation. GoFresh technology enables the garment to be worn multiple times between washes.

The same technologies are in the Transfer Mesh Short Sleeve and Sleeveless base layers.

The Women’s Transfer Mesh Tank makes a statement with the ‘Sugar Skulls’ colorway.

Classic Jersey comes in 100 percent recycled material featuring a lightweight, fast-drying mesh fabric and three bellowed rear pockets for storage. Sized up to 3XL for men and XXL for women.

For the gravel rider, the Expedition Bib Short and Expedition Short for both women and men offer low-profile cargo pockets on the thighs and lower back and give riders the flexibility to wear any top without worrying about carrying capacity. With a compressive Elite Transfer fabric made from recycled content, a breathable Elite Escape 1:1 chamois and a drop tail found on the women’s bib, the Expedition short series is designed for long days in the saddle.

For mountain bikers, the Men’s Summit Button-Up Shirt offers relaxed styling with technical performance. Mountain-bike-friendly features, such as shoulder seams positioned for comfort when wearing a hydration pack and stretch-woven polyester sleeves to improve airflow, are coupled with a Transfer Mesh fabric for breathability. GoFresh fights off post-ride funk.

For women, the Summit Shell Short was designed by women who ride. Its lightweight, stretch-woven fabric is breathable and durable and made from recycled materials. A 10-inch inseam offers coverage for low-profile kneepads. The ‘Sugar Skulls’ and ‘Dark Ink’ prints are a stand-out on the trail.

The Women’s Journey Short, designed for riding a bike, got a redesign for the season with a wide, yoga-inspired waistband, stretch-woven nylon and floating liner short that provides compression and stay-dry performance.

In its BikeStyle line, garments designed for casual riding and everyday wear, the Men’s and Women’s Midland Graphic Tees and Women’s Midland Graphic Tank are constructed from recycled polyester, technically-knit offering breathability, moisture-wicking and a 30+ UPF rating. The Men’s Rove Shirt features new prints that transition from bike commute to the workplace. Strategically patterned shoulders allow for an easy reach to the handlebar, while BioViz reflective elements provide low-light visibility.

Expanding on its Junior lineup are the Junior Summit Tops and Summit Youth Knee and Elbow Guards featuring the same technology and materials as the brand’s adult protection line, which debuted last spring. The downsized youth guards use D30 viscoelastic inserts to absorb impact and a four-way stretch Cordura nylon with elastic grippers to help the pads stay in place while pedaling. Designed for juniors ages 9 to 14, the guards are available in three sizes. Likewise, the Junior Summit Top offers the same features as the adult version. The mountain bike jersey is lightweight, breathable, fast-drying, and made from 95 percent recycled poly mesh transfer fabric.
