Optic Nerve will recognize the 191 Snowboard Outreach Society (SOS) graduates this weekend. Optic Nerve is a longstanding supporter of SOS and their mission to bring the mountain experience to at-risk youth.

“Snowboard Outreach Society is a remarkable organization. Each year, over 1,000 at-risk and under privileged youth graduate from a five-day program and learn positive personal values,” said Bill Cotton, Optic Nerve President and SOS Vice-Chair. “Many of these teens go on to be exceptional students and leaders in their communities. The quality and care the SOS staff and volunteers offer these kids is truly special. Optic Nerve is very proud to be a sponsor of SOS and would like to congratulate SOS graduate Gabriela Hernandez for being recognized as a Winter or Outdoor Idol.”

On March 3-4, 2007, SOS and Optic Nerve will recognize the participants from ten Learn to Ride Sessions at six Colorado ski resorts – Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Steamboat and Vail. Additional graduation ceremonies will take place at Arapahoe Basin and Eldora later in the month.

Optic Nerve recognizes each individual's successful completion of the program with a pair of Optic Nerve sunglasses.
