Nike Inc. aired a new television commercial featuring
Tiger Woods and a voice recording of the golfer’s late father. It’s the
first ads featuring the golfer since revelations about his extramarital
affairs.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, ESPN aired the new
Nike commercial starring Woods on Wednesday evening. The
commercial also reportedly aired on the Golf Channel Wednesday and will again on Thursday, when Woods makes a much anticipated return to the green at the
Masters tournament in Augusta, Ga.

The black-and-white spot shows Woods looking directly into a camera.
In the background is the voice of Earl Woods, who seems to be talking
to his son about the importance of taking responsibility for his
actions, people familiar with the matter said.

“I want to find out what your thinking was; I want to find out what your
feelings are. Did you learn anything?” Earl Woods, who died in 2006,
says in a recording, according to the newspaper. The ad ends with the
image of a Nike swoosh.

Nike declined to comment on the report.

At a press conference this week, Woods said his father’s inspiration
helped play a role in his recent rehabilitation treatment.
