FC Barcelona plans to seek a monetary recovery from Nike after discovering its new football kits are defective, according to the Financial Times. The report stated that a manufacturing error caused the colors to bleed when wet.
Both sides hope to fix the issue by the time the Champions League, Europe’s top club tournament, resumes in August. Nike signed a 10-year deal with Barcelona in 2018.
Nike said in a statement: “We have identified an aesthetic change that is required in the FCB 2020-21 fan home jersey. Once this is resolved a date for the availability of this jersey will be announced.”
