Puma has signed Kimberley Walsh, best known as one of the singers of the British girl group Girls Aloud, to front a campaign for its new body toning footwear collection called BodyTrain.

According to British press reports, Walsh will appear in a six-month press campaign, beginning this month,
showcasing the £70 trainer, which will be initially sold in Next and JD
Sports. The ads will run in U.K. newspapers, including the Daily Star and the
Sunday Mirror, as well as in magazines such as Health & Fitness and
Heat. Girls Aloud are considered one of the UK's most successful acts of the past decade.

The BodyTrain collection was launched last fall in the U.S. at Lady Foot Locker and The Finish Line. Advertising claims Puma claims BodyTrain has toning benefits which offer wearers “better legs, tighter curves and thigh”'.

According to Puma's website, BodyTrain shoes activate leg muscles up to 18% more than some of the leading toning shoe competitors. Weighing in at 205 grams, it also claims to be one of the lightest toning shoes on the market with the benefit, providing less stress on joints and more comfort for all day wear. A dual density foam offers increased stability and reduced pronation for natural walking.

Finally, a slim midsole profile with a running shape “means that your feet will always look feminine and stylish.”
