Boxercraft announced the winner of its annual Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer Scholarship essay contest. Diana Garnett is the 2018 recipient of the $2,000 scholarship and is currently a senior at the University of Arizona majoring in Business Management.
Garnett lost her father to pancreatic cancer when she was only 16 years old. It was her father that inspired her to work hard in school and strive for excellence.
“It had always been his dream for me to attend and graduate from college. Education had always been incredibly important to him, and I share this belief with him,” said Diana Garnett. “As a result of losing my father, I looked for outside scholarships to help fund my education. When I came across the Boxercraft Scholarship, I immediately connected with it and could not be more thankful to put this money towards my education and live out my father’s dream for me.”

Boxercraft’s Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer Scholarship essay contest was created in 2017 to honor the memory of Tod Rastello, former vice president of sales, who passed away in 2016 following a long and courageous fight against the disease. This scholarship honors a current or upcoming college student who has personally battled pancreatic cancer or has a family member affected by it. This is the second year that the scholarship has been awarded.
