Völkl promoted Markus Knipschild to global brand business director, a new position responsible for the brand’s strategic direction, with a stronger focus on the customer as a central element.

Another aspect of Knipchild’s responsibility is the realignment of the company’s racing team and its commercial racing program. The aim is to strengthen the company’s “competitiveness in racing and further consolidate the brand’s presence in this area.”

Knipschild has worked for Völkl for four years in various roles, including sales manager for Europe and International. He reports to John Colonna, president and CEO of Elevate Outdoor Collective.

Knipschild commented, “I am very much looking forward to further developing the brand and leading it into a successful future together with an outstanding, ambitious team. Our employees make a significant contribution to ensuring that Völkl still stands for the highest quality, innovation and customer benefit even after 100 years. Many of them are passionate skiers themselves and live this passion within the company— our customers also feel this. We have been producing at the Straubing location since 1923, now export to more than 45 countries worldwide, and will continue to shape the future of skiing.”
