Shimano’s Earnings Climb In 2020

Shimano reported net income increased 22.5 percent in 2020 as sales grew 4.1 percent. The Japanese-based sporting goods company said the year benefited from “interest in bicycles and fishing that can avoid closed, crowded and close-contact environment boosted demand.”

Kohl’s announced it will partner with Eddie Bauer on a performance outerwear and outdoor apparel range to launch nationwide in Fall 2021. The addition of Eddie Bauer bolsters Kohl’s strategic goal to drive the Active category from 20 percent to at least 30 percent of its business.

Johnson Outdoors Sees 29 Percent Quarterly Sales Hike

Johnson Outdoors Inc. reported total company net sales in the first quarter ended January 1 rose 29 percent year over year to $165.7 million, versus $128.1 million in the prior year fiscal quarter. Helen Johnson-Leipold, Chairman and CEO, said in a statement, “Strong demand in the company’s Fishing, Camping and Watercraft Recreation businesses delivered an unprecedented first fiscal quarter.”

Shoe Carnival Sees 6 Percent Fourth-Quarter Comp Gain

Shoe Carnival Inc. reported comparable store sales increased approximately 6.4 percent in the fourth quarter, on top of a 3.2 percent comparable store sale increase in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2019. The family shoe chain also said earnings doubled in the period.
