Triumph Apparel will permanently lay off 226 employees, according to a report by The New York Dispatch. The layoffs-all of which will take place in York County-will coincide with the closing of two seperate plants on Feb. 25.
The clothing maker will lay off 169 people at its manufacturing plant and 58 people from its distribution plant, the Dispatch reports. According to a letter written by Triumph CEO Carol Hochman, “The action and its timing are due to Triumph's inabilty to obtain the capital required to support the continued operation of the York facilities and to unforeseeable business circumstances that have recently arisen.”
