THOR-LO Inc. has become the newest official sponsor of The Breast Cancer 3-Day benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust.

As an official sponsor, THOR-LO, Inc. has committed to a sponsorship fee of $250,000 to help fund research, education and community outreach programs to aid in the fight against breast cancer. This is the first time that THOR-LO, Inc. has been involved in The Breast Cancer 3-Day.

As part of its commitment to supporting The Breast Cancer 3-Day, a 60-mile walk that takes place in 12 cities, THOR-LO, Inc. has designed a new product called the HEROs Distance Walker. This new pink-padded product offers the thickest level of high-density padding and is designed to fit the unique needs of The Breast Cancer 3-Day participants. The Thorlos HEROs Distance Walker is available exclusively to 3-Day participants. THOR-LO, Inc. will offer all Breast Cancer 3-Day participants the opportunity to receive a free pair of the Thorlos HEROs Distance Walker, designed specifically for The Breast Cancer 3-Day, to begin their training for the 60-mile walk.

In addition, the company will offer all participants an opportunity to purchase a six-pack of the HEROs Distance Walkers to train in and walk in at the event, and $6 from the purchase of each six-pack ($1 per pair) will go directly to The Breast Cancer 3-Day. Additionally, the Institute for Preventive Foot Health (IPFH), founded by the owner of THOR-LO, Inc., will be conducting educational outreach to participants to help ensure that their feet will be healthy and protected during the extreme conditions of The Breast Cancer 3-Day. They also will be working to generate awareness and support for the cause through marketing efforts with suppliers, vendors, staff and consumers.

“This partnership is the perfect fit for THOR-LO, Inc. and IPFH considering our backgrounds in preventive foot health practices and our dedication to improving the overall quality of people's lives,” said Jim Throneburg, THOR-LO, Inc. chairman.

“We have a new, specially-designed product that protects the participants' feet and will help make these walks as comfortable as possible. People will enjoy their training and the actual event more because their feet are well protected.”

The Breast Cancer 3-Day events include women and men of all ages who want to make a personal difference in the battle against breast cancer. Participants commit to fundraising, training and dedicating an entire weekend to the cause. The 2007 Breast Cancer 3-Day Series includes events in Boston (August 3-5), Chicago (August 10-12), Cleveland (August 17-19), Twin Cities (August 24-26), Seattle (September 7-9), Michigan (September 28-30), Philadelphia (October 5-7), Atlanta (October 12-14), Tampa Bay, (October 19-21), Dallas/Ft. Worth (October 26-28), Arizona (November 2-4) and San Diego (November 9-11). Please visit www.The3Day.org, or call 1-800-996-3DAY for more information.

“We are committed to doing everything we can to beat this disease one step at a time,” said Throneburg. “Sponsorship fee, monetary contributions, free product, and rallying the support of our strategic suppliers, retail partners and loyal consumers are the least we can do to help prevent, treat and educate people about breast cancer.”
