Macy’s, Inc. announced that Sharon Otterman was named chief marketing officer of Macy’s. Most recently, she was the CMO at Caesars Entertainment.

At Caesars Entertainment, Otterman launched Caesars Sportsbook, a sports betting brand in the U.S., enhancing the sports betting and gaming brand experience. Before Caesars Entertainment, she was EVP and CMO at Madison Square Garden Company, CMO for NBC Universal’s News Division and VP of marketing at ESPN.

In Otterman’s 25-plus-year career, she “pioneered creative and media campaigns at top advertising agencies.”

Otterman will begin leading the company’s marketing organization on December 11, reporting to Tony Spring, president and CEO-elect of Macy’s, Inc.

Otterman’s responsibilities include leading Macy’s strategic marketing, spearheading the company’s brand evolution and building awareness, engagement, and loyalty among customer segments. She is also responsible for leading and building on Macy’s “experiences,” including the Thanksgiving Day Parade, Macy’s July 4th Fireworks and its annual Spring Flower Show.
