FBI background checks for firearms, as adjusted by the NSSF, were up 1.1 percent in July to 830,579 compared to the July 2018 NSSF-adjusted NICS figure of 821,260.
For comparison, the unadjusted July 2019 FBI NICS figure 2,004,277 reflects a 10.9 percent increase from the unadjusted FBI NICS figure of 1,806,746 in July 2018.
FBI background checks for firearms, as adjusted by the NSSF, were up 3.5 percent in June and up 0.7 percent in May, following a decline of 6.9 percent in April.
For the overall second quarter, adjusted checks were still down due to April’s softness by 1.2 percent. First-quarter 2019 checks of 3.41 million showed a decrease of 8.5 percent.
