Continental Tire has named Quality Bicycle Products (QBP) its preferred distributor in the U.S. and Canada, making its products more accessible to more retailers.

As part of its ongoing investment in North America, Continental selected the largest distributor of cycling products in the region to support its growth within MTB and Gravel, as well as maintain its position in Road. This partnership will enable Continental to use QBP’s fulfillment and customer service.

“Continental is a world leader in tire technology and one of the most recognized brands in the bicycle industry,” said Bill Shouman VP of sales of QBP. “We’re excited for this deeper partnership because of the value it brings to specialty bicycle retailers whose success depends on access to the most compelling brands and products across all relevant categories at margins that sustain their business.”

In addition, on December 1, 2023, Continental will implement a MAP policy for the U.S. and Canada, which it reported would be “monitored and enforced to ensure channel integrity for the brand.”

QBP has distributed Continental products for over a decade and stocks a broad product range from the tire brand across its four U.S. distribution centers. The enhanced, long-term agreement will see QBP increase its selection and inventory of Continental bike products beginning Fall 2023.

Commenting on the QBP partnership, Spiridon Spiridonou, head of Continental Bicycle, said the new partnership with QBP represents an important next chapter for Continental as the company continues to invest in the North American market.

“QBP’s reliable service to more than 5,000 retailers, combined with their organizational support of our business objectives, make them a key partner as we look to further accelerate our market growth,” explained Spiridonou. “Ultimately, it means more of our products will be available to more retailers, enabling more cyclists to benefit from world-class Continental performance whether they ride on road, gravel or trail.”
