Columbia Sportswear Company hired Woody Blackford as senior vice president, chief product officer for the Columbia Brand. Blackford returns to Columbia, where he worked for 14 years, culminating in the position of VP of global design and innovation.

While working at Columbia, Blackford invented Omni-Heat, the patented technology in many of the company’s products. He brings several decades of experience in consumer product creation, most recently with Canada Goose. 

As senior vice president and chief product officer for the Columbia Brand, Blackford will coordinate all product aspects of apparel, footwear, accessories, and equipment.
