The Coleman Company, Inc. has named Simon W. Traynor as President, Coleman Asia Pacific. In his role, Simon will have responsibility for the organization’s fiscal function and performance, for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing sales and marketing strategy, for leading the organization into markets and channels not currently pursued and for management of the sourcing and distribution of Coleman products. Simon will report to Coleman President and CEO, Gary A. Kiedaisch.

His appointment represents a significant investment in the Australian and Asia Pacific market.”

Simon most recently was Sales Director of DC Shoes Asia Pacific, where he led category management and managed 13 regional country teams and the Australian sales/operations team.

Previously, Simon spent seven years in progressively responsible management positions representing Nike to international markets. His latest position was Brand Initiative Manager-Running for Nike EMEA. His key accomplishments included creating a strategic business and brand plan that resulted in double-digit growth, successfully launching a revolutionary footwear technology campaign using a comprehensive PR effort, implementing a streamlined process for the specialty sales team, and category management.

During his tenure as Retail Marketing Manager for Nike Australia, Simon played a key role for the company in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games retail initiative, with creative development of the briefing process and communication oversight, for managing the Nike Australia Athlete Olympic Summit and successfully project managing a youth-based marketing activity during the Games.

Simon earned his Bachelor of Business in Marketing and his Master of Business at RMIT University in Melbourne. He is a passionate surfer, experienced snow skier, committed runner and has been a finalist in the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.
