Vital Outdoors, an outdoor and recreation lifestyle retailer, on Monday announced that it will open its second store in Colorado at the end of February. The company opened its first store in Golden, CO, more than 10 years ago.

Dorel Juvenile Europe Announces Senior Management Changes

Dorel Industries Inc. on Monday announced it has replaced the president and CEO of Dorel Juvenile Europe (DJE). Raul Sepulveda has assumed the duties of Charles De Kervénoaël, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. In addition, Adriano Nascentes, previously with Dorel Sports, has been named to the newly created position of COO, DJE. 

Surf Technicians Expands Sales Team

Surf Technicians has launched a new sales strategy and team to support further growth. Current Southern California sales rep Ryan Mahoney is moving to Panama with his family and will manage all international sales with current and future distributors. Long time Surftech employee Joe Scaturro will take over the Southern California Territory as sales representative. Kyle Kamstra has joined the team as in-house West Coast customer care rep.

Callaway Golf Company announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Jack Wolfskin for €418 million, or approximately $476 million. The acquisition furthers Callaway’s push into the active lifestyle category after its successful 2017 acquisitions of TravisMathew and Ogio.

December M&A Roundup: Marquee Views Dakine As “Billion-Dollar Opportunity”

The final month of 2018 didn’t provide a high volume of M&A in the active lifestyle space, but a handful of notable deals helped the year close on a strong note, including Marquee Brands LLC’s acquisition of Dakine (pictured). Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed but Marquee sees Dakine as a “billion-dollar opportunity,” said Nate Pund of Houlihan Lokey.
