Three Sentenced In College Basketball Recruiting Scandal

Former Adidas executive James Gatto was sentenced to nine months in prison Tuesday for his role in the widespread college basketball recruiting scandal that has tainted two dozen schools. Co-defendants Merl Code, an Adidas consultant, and basketball middleman Christian Dawkins, each received six months.

Target’s Q4 Comps Climb 5.3 Percent

Target Corp. reported fourth-quarter earnings rose 12.5 percent on an adjusted basis and exceeded Wall Street’s expectations. Fourth quarter comps grew 5.3 percent on traffic growth of 4.5 percent.

Kohl’s Q4 Tops Wall Street’s Targets

Kohl’s Inc. reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue in the fourth quarter and provided an upbeat outlook for 2019. Earnings on an adjusted basis rose 17 percent on lower operating expenses and a 1 percent same-store gain.

Bandier Secures $34M In Funding

New York City-based Bandier, the women’s activewear retailer, has raised $34.4 million in funding. The investors included C Ventures and Eurazeo Brands, which is taking a minority stake in Bandier. Adrienne Lazarus, who formerly led
Frye and Intermix, has been hired as CEO.
