Puma Lifts Full-Year Outlook On Robust Q2 Revenue Gains

Puma slightly raised its full-year guidance after reporting second0-quarter earnings rose 59.8 percent.  Revenues increased 15.7 percent on a currency-adjusted basis. The gains were led by the Asia-Pacific region, up 21.6 percent, closely followed behind by the Americas, 19.7 percent. EMEA sales grew 8.4 percent currency neutral.

Athleta and Allyson Felix are joining forces to empower women and girls through sports. In a wide-reaching partnership, Allyson, one of the most decorated track and field athletes in U.S. history, will become Athleta’s first-ever sponsored athlete.

Adidas To Sponsor Boca Juniors

Adidas will replace Nike as the kit sponsor of Boca Juniors beginning in 2020 in a ten-year deal. Nike has been with the Argentina football club for 23 years. 

Big 5’s Q2 Earnings Top Guidance

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp. notched a profit against a loss in the second quarter ended June 30 as same-store sales rose for the third consecutive quarter. Earnings arrived above guidance. Increased traffic in California in June in advance of new ammunition legislation that took effect in July boosted sales in the period.

Golf Rounds Played Flat In June

According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played in the U.S. were flat in June, held back by a steep decline in the South Central region. Year to date, golf rounds played are down 1.0 percent.
