Warrior Sports named JWT Team Detroit as its Agency of Record for its advertising efforts. The Agency will develop an international campaign for Warrior Sports and Brine in the spring of 2009 that will be supported through television, online, print, experiential and in-store media elements. The Agency will also redevelop brine.com, scheduled to launch in April 2009.

“As we grow our brand internationally, it made sense to select an Agency with a global network, in our own backyard,” said David Morrow, president of Warrior Sports. “We need an Agency with all of the marketing tools and capabilities under one roof,” continued Morrow. “From product development to package design and media planning, JWT Team Detroit is a one stop shop for us,” he said.

Warrior Sports said it has grown rapidly through acquisitions and organically since its inception in 1993 in lacrosse and hockey. As part of an earlier project, JWT has already produced various digital short vignettes accessible on warriorlacrosse.com.

“This is a huge win not only for our Agency, but for our region as well,” said George S. Rogers, CEO of Team Detroit. “Our group is elated to grow along with a company who is expanding its operations in southeast Michigan, and growing its brand globally,” he continued.

“This is a great opportunity for a classic Cinderella story here, both for Warrior and for Southeastern Michigan. A win like this is obviously great for morale,” said Toby Barlow, president and executive creative director of JWT Team Detroit.
