Vasque footwear on Thursday announced new agencies to represent the company in the Southwest and Rockies. The Steve Ray Outdoor Sales team will cover California, Nevada and Arizona, and Waypoint Outdoor expanded its representation from the Pacific Northwest to include the Rockies.
“It’s one of those moments when you can’t help but smile,” said Peter McConkie, national sales manager at Vasque. “Bringing on Steve Ray and his team, in addition to expanding Waypoint’s role within our family, is exciting. Their years of industry knowledge and relationship-building skills are great additions to our heritage, family brand.
“Waypoint has been a part of the Vasque family for almost 20 years,” said Bob Holding, principal and brand manager at Waypoint. “We’re honored and truly excited to expand our representation from the Pacific Northwest to the Rockies. We are continually inspired by this family owned and lead American brand. Their values and point of view are a foundational element to our business.”
Waypoint’s representation of the Vasque account is led by Jeff Dill, with years of experience working in product design, management, and development in footwear and apparel. Jeff is based in Portland Oregon and is an avid cyclist, skier and backpacker.
“My first relationship with Vasque began in 1972 when I purchased my first Vasque Hiker II’s as a retail employee of an outdoor shop,” said Steve Ray, principal at Steve Ray Outdoor Sales. “I was immediately impressed by the fit and the durability of the boot. As an owner of a retailer shop, selling Vasque for over 14 years has given me a unique perceptive of the brand and the company. I know Vasque as a customer and retailer. It’s exciting to see the energized culture at the brand, with its new leadership. The sky is the limit!”
Steve Ray Outdoor Sales was started in 1994 with a focus on service and supporting retailers. The agency also represents like-minded brands such as Osprey, Big Agnes, Grayl and Cocoon.
