Vail Resorts CEO To Donate $31 Million From SAR Exercise

Vail Resorts Inc. announced that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rob Katz has exercised stock appreciation rights (SARs) that were expiring over the next two years and will be donating 100 percent of the shares and proceeds received to his family charitable foundation and donor advised charitable fund.

Cascade Mountain Skier Grace Winkelmann Wins Leki’s Ski Camp Scholarship

Leki announced that Grace Winklemann of Wisconsin is the winner of the 2018 Leki full-ride scholarship to the Ligety-Weibrecht Ski Camp. Grace, who grew up skiing in Winter Park, CO, recently moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family, and soon joined the Cascade Mountain Ski Team.

Eddie Bauer, PacSun Combined Under New Operating Company

Golden Gate Capital announced that the company has established a new operating company, PSEB Group. PSEB will be composed of two Golden Gate portfolio companies: Eddie Bauer and Pacific Sunwear of California. In connection with the establishment of PSEB, Golden Gate will invest additional equity in PSEB to support the company’s growth.

Winnebago Acquires Chris-Craft

Winnebago Industries Inc. acquired Chris-Craft, the recreational boat builder, from Stellican Ltd., which has owned Chris-Craft since 2001. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Vail Resorts Q3 Fights Off Tough Winter In Western States

Vail Resorts Inc. reported a modest gain in operating earnings in the company’s third quarter ended April 30 as the company found ways to offset challenging weather conditions across the western U.S. for much of the season. The ski resort giant also said season pass sales for the 2018/2019 North American ski season are off to a strong start.

Proposition 68 was approved in California. The measure will authorize the state to borrow $4.1 billion for investments in outdoor recreation, land conservation and water projects.
