Recall: Wiggle Vitus Kids Bikes

About 280 Vitus 14 and Vitus 16 kids bikes from Wiggle are being recalled. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the bikes don’t meet U.S. regulations for kid’s sidewalk bikes because they have handbrakes but no coaster brake.

Recall: Burley Ballz QR Skewers

About 2,935 skewers in the U.S. and about 260 in Canada are being recalled by Burley Design because they can shear or bend.

Backcountry has appointed Girish Satya chief financial officer of its global portfolio of brands, including Backcountry, Bergfreunde, Competitive Cyclist, Motosport and Steep & Cheap. Most recently, Girish served as a principal at TSG Consumer Products, Backcountry’s financial and strategic partner.

Helen of Troy Ltd. announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of $500 million of its outstanding common shares in keeping with its stated intention to return to shareholders capital not otherwise used for core business growth or strategic acquisitions.

Eagle Creek Sold To Travis Campbell

VF Corp announced that it has sold Eagle Creek to Travis Campbell, the former president of emerging brands at VF. The sale comes after VF in June had said it planned to cease operations of the travel accessories, luggage and daypack brand by this fall.

Snowbound Festivals Postponed Until 2022

With concern for the health and safety of in-person attendance at this year’s 2021 Snowbound Festivals in Denver, CO (November 5-7) and Boston, MA ( November 19-21) due to a resurgence of COVID-19, the events are postponed until 2022.
