Total Hockey, Inc. will debut three TV commercials for the upcoming 2015-16 hockey season, set to air during the week of Oct. 5, the first week of the NHL season.
Additionally, the hockey retailer will premier two more holiday spots, which will run in November and December exclusively. Then, in February, Total Hockey will feature three more spots, which will run through the remainder of the 2015-16 NHL season.
“We began running comedy-driven ads last season with our hockey in real life campaign, which was a rousing success,” said Chris Pickup, the video production manager for Total Hockey. “This season, we are focused on showcasing our omnichannel capabilities. Whether you visit us in-store, online or through our smartphone app, you’ll get the same great, rewarding experience.”
The theme for all eight commercials will be shopping with Total Hockey is easy. The debuting ads, which will run during various NHL and NCAA games on Fox Sports, NBC Sports and other popular regional sports networks, are titled “Skinny Jeans,” “Spit Talker” and “Casual Friday.”
The Spit Talker ad features St. Louis Cardinals home game emcee Todd Thomas, also known for his work across the city as a public speaker. Total Hockey hired a total of 22 actors for the commercials that will debut in 2015.
“We conducted a serious audition process and are extremely excited with our final decisions,” Pickup said. “We hired quality actors, like Scott Kurz, our reoccurring main character for every spot. Our crew was also top notch, as they continue to be year after year.”
Total Hockey received accolades for commercial spots running from October 2014 to June 2015. In July, the St. Louis-based company was awarded four Bronze Telly Awards, all in the use of humor and sports/sporting goods categories. The Telly Award is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films.
