Tilley Endurables, the makers of Tilley Hats and travel clothing, announced that as of April 2011 it has donated over $120,000 to Street Kids International, a global non-profit organization that helps street kids.
This achievement represents contributions that came from a portion of the sales from each Tilley Hemp Hat. Through this donation, Tilley has been able to help 15,000 kids living on the street create a better future for themselves and their communities.
“It's incredible to think that a simple Hat has been able to touch so many lives from around the world,” says Alex Tilley, founder of Tilley Endurables. “The ability to support the next generation of ambitious future-business-owners is an incredible opportunity and we look forward to seeing how the future unfolds for these individuals.”
Having worked with more than 2 million street kids in over 60 countries, Street Kids International has been recognized by the United Nations has a Global Best practice leader in youth work. Street Kids International is a registered charity in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom and is currently delivering programs in over 10 countries globally.
