The Walking Co. plans to open a 1,456 square-foot store in Brandon, Florida, on March 1. The comfort shoe chain currently operates about 150 stores.
“Our new store in Brandon will offer a wide selection of styles, with a special focus on fashion, everyday and ultimate comfort footwear for consumers living in Florida,” said Lee Cox, senior vice president of retail at The Walking Co.
The store will be located in the Westfield Brandon mall on Town Center Drive conveniently located just off I-75 in Brandon. Mall hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Walking Co. said the Westfield Brandon mall is currently completing a 150,000 square-foot expansion that will feature Westfield's signature “Hy-Style” approach — combining the best of traditional retail with innovative elements in a more modern and engaging, indoor-outdoor setting that appeals to an affluent customer base. The project will include new specialty shops and restaurants, interior enhancements and new amenities. The redevelopment is slated for completion Spring 2007.
Walking Co., which is a subsidiary of Big Dog Holdings, carries premium brands such as ECCO, Mephisto, Dansko, UGG and Merrell among many others.
