Sun & Ski Sports will open the company’s newest location at the Valley’s leading shopping destination, McAllen’s La Plaza Mall, in November 2018. This will be the first store in the Rio Grande Valley for the Texas based retailer. Currently, Sun & Ski Sports operates 13 stores in Texas, including locations in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, 30 stores nationwide, as well as an online store at SunandSki.com.
“This new location at La Plaza Mall will allow us to better serve our south Texas, Reynosa and Monterrey customers, many of whom already shop with us in San Antonio, Houston and online,” said Karl Salz, VP, chief operating officer. “Not only do we cater to winter sports enthusiasts who travel north to U.S. and Canadian destinations, but we also have the best gear for the customer who stays in the south. Whether for cycling or just hitting the beach, we have what you want.”
Sun & Ski Sports carries the leading outdoor brands, such as apparel, footwear and accessories from Patagonia, The North Face, Columbia, Chaco and Birkenstock. Additionally, in winter sports, the store offers the best ski and snowboard products from Salomon, Obermeyer, Burton, Rossignol and Spyder.
The McAllen Sun & Ski Sports store will be 10,000 square feet and located in the new expansion wing of the La Plaza Mall. For convenience, particularly for those bringing bikes, skis and/or snowboards in to be serviced in its expert shop, the store will have its own exterior entrance on the eastern parking lot as well as be open to the mall.
Excluding holidays, hours will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
