Sports Authority will collect point-of-sale donations at Sports Authority locations nationwide to support the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) throughout the month of October. As part of their ongoing efforts to support the NSCD, Sports Authority has set the goal of raising $150,000 to help fund NSCD initiatives. All proceeds will go toward enriching the lives of children and adults with disabilities.
“We truly believe in the mission of the NSCD and are proud to maintain an ongoing partnership with such an outstanding organization, especially to help raise awareness and resources for a great cause,” said Michael Foss, Chief Executive Officer of Sports Authority. “We believe in celebrating the good in sport and the NSCD does a tremendous job providing therapeutic sports and recreational programs for individuals with disabilities. We are excited for our employees and customers to come together and support such a worthwhile cause.”
The NSCD is recognized around the world as the premier therapeutic recreation organization, providing leadership and expertise in adaptive sports. Each year more than 3,000 children and adults with disabilities participate in year-round sports and recreational NSCD programs.
