SoulCycle, the boutique spinning studio, is launching an outdoor variation of its cult-favorite workout, named SoulOutside.
SoulCycle said on the site’s landing page, “Since we can’t get back to riding inside just yet, we’re excited to announce that we’re bringing select studios outdoors for classes 7 days a week throughout the summer. Expect all the things you love about a SoulCycle summer, plus cool breezes, great views, and a full lineup of rides led by all your favorite instructors.”
Following success in outdoor ride sessions in New York, SoulOutside events will be coming to major cities including Boston, Hoboken, NJ and Santa Monica, CA. Two locations in Boston, Dedham and Chestnut Hill, will open this week, the rest are scheduled to open later this month.
In July, the company tested the outdoor concept in New York’s Watermill and Bridgehampton locations and then expanded to Montauk and Southampton.
SoulOutside will be held seven days a week through Labor Day, and possibly beyond, in these new cities once launched. Classes in the Hamptons are $50, but classes in other markets will be the market price (regular studio classes cost around $37) but may not include shoes and water.
Through SoulOutside, SoulCycle is offering its signature 45-minute indoor cycling class in a socially distanced environment. Classes are held at an outdoor studio tent featuring 45 bikes in the parking lot of the center. Classes are available seven days a week through early October.
Riders will use headphones provided by SoulCycle to ensure strong sound while cycling outside. Bikes can be reserved online. Registered riders will be able to head straight to the outdoor studio. The SoulCycle indoor studio will be open with restrooms and changing areas. Anyone entering will be required to wear a face-covering and to practice social distancing. Benches will be set up for riders to change their shoes.
