Simms Fishing has jumped on board the resale trend. The company said it looks to make waves in the angling community with the launch of Simms Recast, a dedicated resale program.
Launching first as a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace, Simms Recast allows anglers to buy and sell pre-owned Simms gear directly with one another, extending the life of Simms’ fishing apparel and gear while making the brand more accessible to a broader consumer base.
“Simms Recast is more than just a resale platform—it’s about fostering a stronger connection within the angling community and ensuring our gear stays in use for as long as possible,” said Ben Christensen, head of Simms. “By making our products more accessible through resale, we’re expanding our reach and welcoming new anglers into the Simms family, all while staying true to our commitment to quality and conservation.”
As one of the first fishing brands to introduce a resale program, Simms has found that the resale route will engage the brand with more anglers while reinforcing its commitment to “product longevity and sustainability.”
Simms Recast is an extension of Simms’ warranty and repair programs, providing a brand-backed platform where pre-owned gear gets a second chance for consumers to wear it on water.
The brand plans to expand the platform with a Managed Resale model so customers can buy and sell pre-owned Simms gear. This resell initiative aligns with Simms’ 2026 vision: “What is the Future of Fishing?” placing sustainability and circularity at the core of the brand’s consumer strategy.
“Resale is a natural fit for Simms, a brand built on quality and gear that’s made to last,” said Simms tech partner on the project. “With Recast, Simms is not only opening up its products to a broader community of anglers but also reinforcing its commitment to keep great gear going.”
Historically catering to an exclusive, high-end customer, Simms said it will use Recast to reach the broader angling community “to break down barriers and grow the fishing community,” the company said in a media release.
