Scheels All Sports plans to open the company’s second store in Colorado in Colorado Springs in the spring of 2021. The 220,000-square-foot store will feature a 65-foot, 16-car working Ferris wheel, giant saltwater aquarium, “wildlife mountain” of taxidermy specimens and 75 specialty shops.
The first store in the state, measuring 250,000 square feet, opened in September 2017 in Johnstown.
“With the success of our store in Johnstown, CO, we are thrilled to bring a second store to the Colorado market and specifically to Colorado Springs,” Scheels CEO Steve M. Scheel said in the release.
The store will be located at Interquest Marketplace in north Colorado Springs and will be the Fargo, ND-based company’s 29th.
