Roll Recovery announced the launch of its R8 Plus massage tool, the latest addition to its R8 and R8 custom lineup. The recovery tool features an adjustable deep tissue massage force for ease of use and a patented, hidden mechanism in the frame with an adjustment dial to increase or decrease the compression massage force to improve circulation, reduces inflammation and break up muscle adhesions for myofascial release.
“Our mission is to create exceptionally designed, functional tools that are unlike anything else on the market and mobile enough to use anywhere,” said Jeremy Nelson, founder and CEO, Roll Recovery. “We have known for quite some time that having the adjustability feature in our signature R8 roller would be the next evolution of the product and, after a lot of work to get it just right, we’re absolutely thrilled to launch the new, adjustable R8 Plus to reach more athletes—amateur and professional alike.”
An FDA-registered medical device, it targets the IT bands, quads, hamstrings, calves, shins, gluteus, and arms. With a patented integrated mechanism hidden in the frame, the R8 Plus was designed for ease of use and compact for travel.
Designed and developed with input from elite runners, the massager was created in the brand’s Boulder, CO headquarters, home to the On Athletics Club.
The device measures 12.5″ x 9.5″ x 2.5″ and weighs 3.0 lbs. It features stainless steel hardware and ball bearings in all moving pivot points.
The original R8 was launched in 2012 and won awards including the Men’s Journal Gear of the Year Award. The second generation of the R8 launched in January 2018 and has been featured in publications and used by professional athletes worldwide. The R8 Custom launched earlier in 2021 and is used by athletes and celebrities including LeBron James, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.
