Reima, the 78-year-old Finish outdoor apparel and footwear brand for kids, debuted its U.S. SS23 line—its most environmentally conscious collection to date. Offering sustainably made polyfluoroalkyl (PFA) substance-free rainwear and sunproof swimwear with a UPF of 50+, the collection will be available for U.S. consumers in February 2023.

“Reima is the sole global lifestyle children’s brand completely dedicated to providing best in class non-toxic apparel and footwear solutions designed to get kids offline and outside where they can not only explore but also gain independence, build confidence and creativity,” said Beth Steele, vice president, sales, North America. “Spring/Summer 2023 offers versatile, reliable styles that provide high-performance protection from nature’s unpredictable conditions while providing comfort, enabling kids to live life outdoors no matter the weather.”

With 20 rainwear SKUS for boys and girls, the collection is waterproof and uses a non-toxic polyurethane coating with welded seams. The softshell outerwear is water and windproof and offers ease of movement and breathability.

With all styles featuring UPF 50+, Reima’s SunProof garments shelter kids from UVA and UVB rays “up to 50 times longer during playtime.”

Each style in the rainwear collection uses four large polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles in the manufacturing process. The collection includes the Vesi Rain Jacket, Ankles Rain Boots, Soutu Reimatec Jacket, Joonia and Uiva Swim Shirt, and Lean Swim Shoes.
