The sixth annual Outdoor Inspiration Awards, presented by Adidas Outdoor, will be co-hosted this year by Alex Boylan and Burton Roberts from DreamJobbing and reality TV fame.

True adventurers, having traveled the world on Amazing Race and Survivor, Boylan and Roberts will lend their experiences to the Outdoor Inspiration Awards ceremony at the Salt Palace Convention Center on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at 6 p.m., the second night of Outdoor Retailer Winter Market.

The Outdoor Inspiration Awards celebrates those that inspire and encourage others to enjoy, participate in and support outdoor activities and the outdoor industry. The Outdoor Inspiration Awards include both general and sponsored category nominations gathered from the Outdoor Retailer community. Categories include Individual, Retailer, Manufacturer, Non-Profit and a Youth category sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by adidas Outdoor, will honor the life and contributions of the late Skip Yowell.

“In an industry where passion and adventure are at the core of what we do, it is an honor to have Alex Boylan and Burton Roberts co-host this year’s Outdoor Inspiration Award,” said Marisa Nicholson, Outdoor Retailer vice president and show director. “By lending their talents to this respected event, their presence helps to engage the community. Our goal is to highlight the accomplishments of our industry and the people making a difference. The Outdoor Inspiration Awards continue to be a highlight of Winter Market, as we come together and celebrate heroes of our industry.”

DreamJobbing was founded by entertainment industry veterans Lisa Hennessy, Alex Boylan and Burton Roberts. Boylan and Roberts created the online, interactive series, “Around the World for Free” before producing branded digital content for CBS, Rachael Ray Show, Travel Channel and many more.

Roberts and Boylan joined forces to form Around The World Productions in 2007 and went on to break ground creating online interactive shows with multiplatform distribution. Roberts was also the CEO and host of the Yacht Channel. He has been a CBS host and Brand Ambassador; the “tech expert” and Field Tested host on Outside Today and participated in CBS’s Survivor: Pearl Islands. Burton raced in the Eco-Challenge: Fiji; featured as an inspirational “story teller” in the movie The Compass; and can be found in Spirit of Adventure: Eagle Scouts and the Making of America’s Future (Roberts earned his Eagle Scout award at age 14).

“It is a privilege to be hosting the Outdoor Inspiration Awards with Burton,” said Boylan. “From my 13 years of producing television, I’ve visited some of the most spectacular places on the planet. I’ve shaped my life to make sure there’s room for travel and outdoor adventure. It’s so important in this day and age to acknowledge those who create gateways to outdoor exploration so future generations will know the true value of the world around us.”

The nomination period will remain open through November 27, 2015. Visit the Outdoor Retailer web site for detailed guidelines and to submit nominations. Nominations are due no later than 6 p.m. (PST).

Adidas Outdoor, and Boy Scouts of America work with Outdoor Retailer and its panel of industry leaders to select the annual winners.
