The 1Climb Foundation—a St. Louis based organization with the goal of introducing 100,000 kids to climbing—this week named Verde Brand Communications as its agency of record.
Founded by professional rock climber Kevin Jorgenson and So iLL Holds owner Dan Chancellor, 1Climb partners with local climbing gyms and Boys and Girls Clubs across America to install permanent climbing walls and introduce thousands of kids to climbing. Since its inception in 2017, 1Climb has opened three walls in California and Missouri. Plans are underway for 10 more walls as the organization recently announced a new partnership with Adidas Outdoors, which will be funding the additional walls. The climbing walls are slated to open over the next two years in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.
“1Climb is inspiring confidence in kids through climbing, which can have an incredibly positive influence on other aspects of their lives, as well as their communities,” said Kristin Carpenter, CEO and founder of Verde Brand Communications. “Through supporting 1Climb, we’re really supporting the kids and communities touched by their programs.”
Verde will support a range of strategy and communications efforts as the organization enters into its next phase of wall openings. Working closely with the 1Climb team, Verde will share 1Climb’s story with the communities it is serving, as well as the greater climbing and outdoor communities with the goals of elevating brand awareness, partnership opportunities and program support.
“Verde’s experience in the outdoor and climbing space made them a natural fit for 1Climb,” said Tim Baum, executive director of 1Climb. “We’re confident their expertise in strategic media relations and brand communications will take our foundation to the next level, and help us reach our goal of getting 100,000 kids introduced to climbing.”
