Ogden, UT, October 30, 2019)– Suunto, a global leader in sports watches, dive computers and precision instruments, announces the second year of its athlete program. This year, the team is revamped to span across three categories: the Suunto Multisport Team, Suunto Squad and Suunto Factory Team. Interested triathletes, ultrarunners and other athletes are encouraged to apply online for team selection before November 17, 2019.
“Being able to support the community through the Multisport Team has been an incredible opportunity for us, and we’re excited to continue supporting and growing the team. We had such a successful first year, with team members winning long-distance triathlons, XTERRA races and ultramarathons across the globe, and we can’t wait to see what happens next year,” said Caleb Whittle, marketing manager for Suunto in the Americas.
Suunto Multisport Team:
The Suunto Multisport Team will be comprised of 50 elite athletes and coaches focused on triathlon and ultrarunning who are pushing the limits of human performance in sport. Suunto will support its athletes with products from Suunto and additional industry partners, including a Suunto 9 Baro, the brand’s latest multisport GPS watch. The watch has a 120-hour battery life, wrist-based heart rate and over 80 customizable sport modes, making it the ideal partner for training and racing.
Athletes on the Suunto Multisport Team represent Suunto on the race stage, assist technical representatives in the field, hold product and race clinics, attend an annual team event and help at Suunto sponsored events. The ideal candidate is a strong performer with positive past results, a promising future and success on social media, with an eagerness to join a group of like-minded endurance athletes.
Unveiled in December of 2018, the Suunto Squad program is for online ambassadors who strive to share their passion for fitness with a larger digital community and who align with the brand and its values. Ambassadors will receive a watch to use in their adventures, plus additional accessories, branded gear and access to exclusive discounts.
Suunto Factory Team:
The Factory Team is for athletes who are passionate about Suunto and wish to represent the brand as an ambassador in the community. Suunto is seeking athletes of all backgrounds and abilities who embody the spirit of Suunto and who are looking to join a large community of athletes racing across North America. Factory Team athletes will receive discounts on Suunto products as well as discounts from team partners.
For 2020, Suunto athletes will be sponsored by some of the leading brands in the endurance space for nutrition, apparel, and gear. Those brands will be announced at a later date.
To be considered for any of the 2020 categories, interested athletes should apply online at bit.ly/JoinSuunto
