Peak, the Chinese athletic footwear brand, signed Matthew Dellavedova, the back-up point guard of the Cleveland Cavaliers, to a three-year endorsement deal.

The three year global deal will see Dellavedova, who also plays for the Australian Boomers, become a ‘PEAK Athlete’ and launch his own signature range of basketball shoes and apparel.

“PEAK Australia approached me nearly two years ago with the idea of introducing a basketball shoe into the Australian market” Dellavedova said in a statement. “From there, talks became more serious in the past year and PEAK worked hard on developing a shoe that offers the type of reliability and performance that drives me every day. It’s pretty special. I can’t wait to unveil them for the first time later this year”.

Peak Australia Managing Director Greg Bickley, said that Matthew had worked extremely hard on the development of the low cut ‘Delly 1’ shoe. “Matthew was very specific about what he expected from the performance of the shoe and we were delighted to be able to work with him to achieve a signature range for Matthew as a champion Australian NBA player”.

In a significant move for PEAK, Dellavedova has been signed as a “PEAK Athlete” to represent the brand globally over the next 3 years. “Matthew offers the type of characteristics that we want people to associate with our brand” said Greg. “Hard working, honest and most of all, always ready to play. He is already such a fantastic role model to the basketball community in Australia, and it’s our hope that through this global partnership with PEAK, Matthew will become a household name throughout the 70 plus countries that PEAK are located in”.

Australians will be able to get their hands on the “Delly 1” later this year with the exclusive footwear and apparel deal set to begin on the 1st of July. “The ‘Delly 1’ shoe and apparel will be available through our retail network and online at peaksport.com.au with plans to also produce a range of casual and running shoes”. The ‘Delly 1’ will be available in sizes from children’s and adults up to size 15.

Peak also currently supply the Australian Boomers and Opals with teamwear, an ongoing relationship that is now 10 years strong.
