Debbie Edwards has been named Marketing and Sales Development Director for Outside magazine. Edwards will be managing Outside’s marketing, communications, and research departments and will serve as the liaison between Outside’s various divisions and brand extensions, with the goal of better leveraging Outside’s resources for client marketing solutions. Edwards will be based in New York, where she will report to Outside Vice President and Publisher Scott Parmelee.

“Debbie’s broad-based experience is perfectly matched for Outside’s integrated marketing,” said Parmelee. “She will be a tremendous asset for Outside.”

Prior to Outside, Edwards held a ten-year tenure with Scuba Diving magazine and Scubadiving.com. During her time with the company, she served as Territory Manager, Advertising Director, Associate Publisher, and Publisher. Prior to that, she was an Account Executive at The Daily Oklahoman newspaper.

Edwards has served as a member of Ad Club, the Caribbean Tourism Organization, the Cayman Island Tourism Association, and the Pacific Asia Travel Association. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Diving Equipment and Marketers Association and the American Institute of Wine and Food. Edwards received her Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia, graduating with honors.
