OIWC named the recipients of the 2011 Outdoor and Snow Industry Leadership Awards.
The Pioneering Women Award honors Sally McCoy of Camelbak in the Outdoor Industry and Elana Chase of Vail Ski Club in the Snow Industry as veterans within their industries who have furthered the vision of OIWC by demonstrating an outstanding commitment to mentoring female colleagues.
The First Ascent Award honors Kate Ross of Williamette Riverkeeper in the Outdoor Industry and Rachel Gitjan of Burton in the Snow Industry as members of their industries who have demonstrated strong leadership skills.
McCoy and Ross will be recognized at the OIWC Gathering during the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City UT on Jan 21. The Gathering will begin at 5 pm in booth #32081 (Timberland), with the awards presentation at 5:30pm.
Chase and Gitjan will be recognized at the OIWC Gathering during the SIA Tradeshow in Denver, CO on Jan. 28. The Gathering will begin at noon in Room #205 with a free lunch, with the awards presentation at 12:30 pm.
