Notogroup Executive Search reports that its annual survey of executives in the U.S. consumer product industry shows its becoming more difficult to fill executive and product positions as the job market heats up.
The boutique search firm, which specializes in recruiting for consumer products companies, said more than two thirds of respondents to the Notogroup Hiring Trends Survey expect their hiring to increased slightly (56 percent) or significantly (11 percent) in 2015. Only 3 percent expect a decrease in hiring.
A large number of respondents, or 42 percent, find that hiring has become more difficult in the last 12 months, while 14 percent say it has become easier. The biggest internal challenges to hiring include the ability to offer competitive compensation (58 percent), followed by competitive benefits and an unstructured hiring process (31 percent).
The survey is based on responses from 36 high level decision makers in the outdoor, active performance, natural products, natural foods industries and is designed to reveal:
- The overall trend for hiring in 2015
- The biggest challenges to making great hires
- The best sources for top talent
- The toughest jobs to fill in consumer products
- Employer brand perception
The results of the survey are benchmarked against the recent 2015 US Recruiting Trends Survey released by LinkedIn, showing similarities and differences in consumer products company trends against the broader pool of US employers.
