Nike has suspended its endorsement contract with Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in the wake of his child abuse charges.
Nike in no way condones child abuse or domestic violence of any kind and has shared our concerns with the NFL. We have suspended our contract with Adrian Peterson, read a statement from the sports apparel company.
A grand jury in Texas indicted Peterson for reckless or negligent injury to a child.
On Wednesday morning, The Minnesota Vikings have reversed course and placed Peterson on the exempt-commissioners permission list, a move that will require him to stay away from the team while he addresses his charges in Texas.
