Wilson Racquet Sports recently announced the promotion of Jon Muir to U.S. Director of Sales & Marketing. Muir, who recently served as Wilson’s U.S. Director of Marketing & Promotions, will take on the new sales responsibilities that were previously under Charlie Osborn as of January 1,
2005. Muir will continue to report to Rick Kerpsack, Vice President of U.S. Golf & Racquet Sports.

Osborn elected not to relocate his family to Wilson’s Chicago-based headquarters but his dedication and contribution to Wilson’s Racquet Sports success over the years will be missed, according to Kerpsack.

Muir, who has been with Wilson for seven years, brings a wealth of sales experience to his new role and has been instrumental in developing key marketing and grassroots promotions for Wilson’s successful product introductions including the recent nCode launch. He will continue in his responsibilities as Director of U.S. Marketing as well and the roles will be combined. Wilson will look to hire a U.S. Promotions Manager to take over the day-to-day responsibilities that Muir was previously managing.

“Jon Muir brings a dynamic skill set to his new position with a combined background in sales, promotions and marketing and a unique understanding of the specialty racquet industry,” Kerpsack said. “He has developed a great
reputation within the industry and with Wilson’s sales force and we look forward to continued success as the global and U.S. leader in tennis.”
