Mountain Safety Research (MSR) extended the company’s partnership with the American Alpine Club and the club’s Craggin’ Classic Series, the national grassroots climbing festival, for the third year in a row. The Craggin’ Classic Series travels to seven locations around the country, and MSR will be supporting select events.
The American Alpine Club has been preserving the climbing way of life since 1902. With the creation of the Craggin’ Classic Series, this grassroots celebration of events unites climbers by celebrating all things climbing–including clinics taught by professional athletes and local climbing guides, films, slideshows, presentations, music, local food and beer, vendor villages and local crag stewardship projects. Climbers have a chance to share stories, climb together and give back to their local communities.
“The American Alpine Club is truly an incredible resource for the climbing community,” said Scott Youmans, stoves and combustion category manager at MSR. “We’re excited to partner with the AAC again to further support the core climbing community.”
From September through early November, the 2018 festival travels to world-class climbing destinations, including:
- Smith Rock, Oregon | September 14-16
- New River Gorge, West Virginia | September 21-23
- Rumney, New Hampshire | October 5-7
- Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin | October 12-14
- Shelf Road, Colorado | October 19-21
- Moab, Utah | October 26-28
- Bishop, California | November 2-4
MSR will have a presence onsite at select Craggin’ Classic Series events in 2018, where climbers can participate in raffles to win new MSR gear with proceeds benefiting the American Alpine Club.
