What started as a private label customer relationship for Luminox has now been expanded into a new strategic partnership with Mondaine, the makers of The Official Swiss Railways Watch. Mondaine affiliates acquired 50% of Luminox from one of its co-founders for an undisclosed amount. The partnership will avail Luminox with additional resources for growth both in the U.S. and internationally. The U.S. headquarters will consolidate operations in Mill Valley, California, while new offices will be established in Hong Kong and Zurich, Switzerland.

Since 1989, two American watch pioneers, Barry Cohen and his partner, have built an undisputed success with the Luminox brand and its collection of active lifestyle wristwatches. Starting out as the official watch of the U.S. Navy Seals, Luminox is best known for its highly functional, unique, self-powered illumination technology called LLT (Luminox Light Technology). LLT allows for brighter continuous visibility without manual activation or exposure to light. For this reason, Luminox has been chosen by demanding active consumers, sportsmen, law enforcement and military organizations including the US Navy Seals, F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Jet Pilots, U.S. Olympic teams and other high performance individuals. All watches are sold through sport/outdoor channels and jewelry stores and have been manufactured in Switzerland by various producers, including most recently Mondaine.

For this transaction, Luminox was advised by The Silverfern Group, in conjunction with Sport Ventures LLC.
