Modell’s To Open 2nd Store On 125th Street

Modell’s Sporting Goods on August 24 will open its second location on 125^th Street in Harlem.  This will bring Modell’s total store count to 159 locations.  The new location will host a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 24^th with members of the Modell’s Sporting Goods executive committee including CEO, Mitchell Modell as well as members of the local communities.

Modell’s will open at 135 East 125^th Street on the corner of Lexington Ave (above Duane Reade).  The 13,000+ square foot location on the 2^nd level is only a minutes from a major New York City subway HUB and the MetroNorth.  This will be Modell’s second location in Harlem on 125^th Street.  The newest location will feature a wide selection of top brands such as Nike, Under Armour, adidas, and more.

“Modell’s is thrilled to open this new location right on the cusp of Back to School and the fall sports season,” said Modell.  “With the exponential growth of Harlem and the recent influx of tourists, we saw this as a major opportunity to support the community by adding a second store on 125th.”

To help open the new location, Modell’s will host New York Giants cornerback, Eli Apple on Thursday, August 25^th at 5 p.m. for a fan meet and greet.  Customers will have the opportunity to receive special giveaways and offers throughout the four day extravaganza.  One of the major offers includes a ‘BOGO 50% Off” on Mix & Match footwear for Men’s, Women’s, and Kids’.
