What do you get when the first month of the new year features news from a golfer named Tiger, a Statefarm spokesperson named Patrick, job cuts across the industry, key acquisitions, looming IPOs in the outdoor and sports markets, a public fight between a company’s Board and its investors, news from REI, Columbia, Nike, and Adidas—a very busy month for SGB Media.

For January 2024, SGB Media posted a record month of page views, site visits, and article reads on SGBonline.com and recorded the highest click-through percentages from the SGB Update Daily Morning and Evening email newsletters.

SGBonline.com broke records in January 2024 as pageviews exceeded 200,000 and total site visits reached nearly 135,000. Data showed us that access to our media portals via mobile phones swung to the top spot in the month, delivering over 52 percent of visitors for the period, while desktops and laptops combined for 45 percent of the total. Tablets were responsible for the remaining viewer reads.

Key metrics found that site readership to SGBonline.com came from a broader range of sources in January, but the primary source continues to come from the readership of the SGB Update Daily Morning and Evening email newsletters.

The SGB Daily Morning and Evening Update email newsletters had an open rate in January over 50 percent, a metric SGB sponsors and advertisers said is unheard of in the market. Further, the SGB Daily Morning and Evening Update email newsletters had a click-to-open rate exceeding 15 percent and a click rate of nearly 8 percent—both metrics far exceeding the market average.
