Julbo USA welcomes professional climber David Allfrey to its roster of sponsored athletes.

Just 28-years-old and published in the likes of Climbing and Alpinst Magazines, Allfrey’s experiences on the wall will be a great addition to Julbo’s extensive team of athletes, including fellow climbers: Gordon McArthur, Ed Viesturs, Dawn Glanc, Angela Hawse, Freddie Wilkinson, Caroline George, Graham Zimmerman, Vince Anderson, Kevin Mahoney, Majka Burhardt, Kelly Cordes, Barry Blanchard, Adam George and Rob Frost.

“I love the focus that is required when climbing and I love finding that intense concentration that it often takes to overcome presenting obstacles,” said Allfrey. “Julbo’s partnership will help take me to new places, push me to new levels, and redefine my goals as a climber. Knowing that Julbo makes the best mountaineering sunglasses in the world provides me with an advantage I did not have prior to this partnership.”

Allfrey has set some lofty goals for the upcoming season, including several on Yosemite’s infamous El Cap, and his resume shares a laundry list of accomplishments demonstrating just how capable he is of pushing the limits.

In August 2013, a team consisting of Allfrey, Nik Berry and Mason Earle took to the hardest alpine wall in Wyoming – the Wind River Range’s north face on Mt. Hooker.  The other climbers were heavily dependent on Allfrey’s expertise in setting protection and were able to climb a new, all-free link-up route.

Allfrey also has partnered with free-soloing expert Alex Honnold in the past to set several speed records in the Yosemite Valley including Lunar Eclipse, Wet Denim Daydream, West Buttress and most recently Excalibur.

“Allfrey has already made a name for himself within the climbing world, and Julbo is thrilled to be able to call him as one of our own,” said Nick Yardley, CEO of Julbo USA. “With his impressive resume, adventurous eye, and determined mindset, I have no doubt that he will continue to represent himself and the Julbo brand strongly as we move forward.”

The addition of Allfrey to Julbo’s team roster demonstrates the company’s continued dedication to provide the finest performance optics for the industry’s most distinguished athletes.
