Ibex, the merino wool apparel and accessories manufacturer, has hired Black Dog Sales Group to manage sales in the Rockies and Intermountain West and to continue the brand’s expansion into retail.
Black Dog Sales Group is an independent sales group based in Denver, CO, owned and operated by Ian Decker. It also represents Norrøna, Tread Labs and AKU.
Jordan Todoroff, head of sales for Ibex, said of the recent representation, “Ibex is relentless about making the highest quality apparel on the market, and we care deeply about how our products are presented to customers. We believe there’s no better way to grow a brand than through specialty retail–partnering with sales professionals who love our products as much as we do. Ian knows the specialty retail landscape in the Rockies better than most, so partnering with him was a no-brainer. He believes in our brand and believes in supporting the kind of shops we want to work with. There’s a reason Black Dog has become such a titan in so little time.”
Ibex, acquired by New York-based investor group Flour Fund in 2018 under GM Bonie Shupe’s leadership, has scaled operations to expand into retail. Shupe said, “When I went to define a wholesale strategy for Ibex, we decided a winning strategy starts with connecting with independent shops all over the world. Black Dog Sales Group meets the vision we had for Ibex’s wholesale brand representation. They represent only the best brands with outstanding service and support. Ibex is proud to be one of them.”
