Hoist, the manufacturer of “IV-level hydration,” announced that Gerry David has been appointed chairman of the board of directors. An industry veteran with over 40 years of experience working in consumer products, manufacturing, and high-tech industries, David will bring “his extensive experience and proven record of driving sustainable growth to Hoist.”

David has led public and private companies in 72 countries. As the CEO of Celsius Holdings, he led the company’s turnaround from near bankruptcy. During his tenure at Celsius, he was honored as “The Leader” in the CEO of the Year category at the 2016 CEO World Awards.

“I’m excited to join Hoist at such a dynamic time,” said David. “As consumers increasingly prioritize hydration and health benefits, Hoist is uniquely positioned to deliver just that.

“Hoist’s affiliation with the U.S. Military, one of three electrolyte sources approved for use by the U.S. Department of Defense, sets them apart in the hydration market. I look forward to leveraging this aspect of Hoist to uncover new growth opportunities,” continued David.

As Hoist continues to expand its IV-level hydration into new markets, including a recent partnership with supermarket chain Giant Food, David’s insights are “will be invaluable for navigating the company’s growth.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gerry into the Hoist world,” said Co-founder and President Kelly Heekin. “We’ve seen what Gerry has produced throughout his career and believe that he will be a great asset to our mission at HOIST. With this group, we hope to continue bringing the best hydration to those who are constantly pushing their boundaries to the limits.”

Hoist reports that its products “offer three times the electrolytes and half the sugar of traditional sports drinks, with no artificial sweeteners or dyes.” The company’s IV-level hydration is available in bottled beverages, powder sticks and liquid pouches.
