Half-Moon Outfitters hosted it’s 7th Annual Island Giant Kayak Race Saturday, October 27th at the Isle of Palms, South Carolina. This event raised $6000 for the Coastal Conservation League, who fight to protect the natural environment of the South Carolina coastal plain.

The winner of the Island Giant 6 mile kayak race was Greg Barton who is also an Olympic Gold Medalist. The winner of the Little Giant 3 mile kayak race was Mike Murphy.

“This was our most successful race ever, “ said Amy Black, the race coordinator. “We had a great turnout and raised a large sum for the Coastal Conservation League. It’s great to see so many paddlers come out to support a group that protects the places where they enjoy their sport.”
